Hello beautiful souls! I have put together a quick frequently asked questions section here on the blog as a go to for frequent queries I receive on my platforms. If there's anything else you're wondering, just send me a DM! This blog post will be updated as my audience expands and more questions are asked, so be sure to check back in.
How to connect with the right people and make new friends? 👯♀️
I feel like I've been through the full spectrum of this. In high school, I was bullied to the point of having to move schools. I always wanted to be popular, and when I moved to Sydney for year 11 and 12, it instantly fell into my lap and didn't want it. It took me years and starting from scratch to really fine tune my friendships, find my true people, and be around inspiring, pure souls. Here's how you can find your tribe:
1) Start by frequently checking in with your "circle of influence". Draw two columns, one titled "current influence" and the other titled "future influence", and write out who you're currently surrounded by (include family, work mates, beautician, anyone you share yourself with) and then write out who you'd like to spend time with. You are the sum of who you surround yourself with.
2). Make a manifestation list, to consciously call in people you would like to connect with. By getting clear on your intention of the types of people you'd like to attract, you will recognise when the ones who don't align with these values show up and you can choose not to lower yourself to that energy.
3.) Once you're clear on who you want to connect with, intentionally put yourself out there to meet them. It's like imagining your ideal customer for a business - how do they like to spend their day, what Facebook groups might they be in, would they eat at organic vegan cafes? Put yourself out there, join events, go to workshops, art classes, group meditations, yoga, the gym. Sign up to local newsletters (Brisbane/Gold Coast has Concrete Jungle) for new events and ideas of where you can find new people.
4). Use Instagram. This is hands down the most influential way I've met people. If someone follows you and you're interested enough to follow them back, send them a DM! There's not a single person I follow who I don't have the intention of connecting with, so if someone connects with you there is a reason behind it and it's up to one of you to take action and make a friendship from it. Ask where they're from, comment on that waterfall pic saying you know another cool one, ask if they want to go to the markets this Sunday, go for a skate or take your puppies for a coastal park, just put yourself out there!
5.) Use apps like Hey Vina which is literally tinder in friendship form, and Bumble has a friend section which is more popular than you might think. When I moved to North Sydney, I was using these apps to connect with new people, even if it's for after work hangs!
How can I start my mindfulness and spiritual journey? 📚
I written an entire blog post about this here! For direct, intimate advice and guidance, you can book a personal session with me here.
How did you start your journey? 🧘🏻♀️
I started my journey when I was 20, after experiencing severe depression, PTSD, anxiety including social anxiety, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, high school bullying, no sense of belonging, and attempted suicide. I haven't ever gone in depth about my story, but you can read a brief overview of the last 7 years here. I'm hoping to share this journey for you on YouTube in future as I know it will help a lot of people. I certainly didn't just wake up and decide to be committed to personal development and delve deeply within myself 😋
How do you create your drawings? ✍🏼
I use an iPad Air 4th Generation with the Apple Pencil 2nd Generation, and a 2020 MacBook Air
What apps do you use to design? 💻
For the iPad I use Procreate, it's just $15 on the App Store and comes with hundreds of brushes. You can buy more brushes such as watercolour on sites such as Envato Elements and Creative Market. On my laptop I use the Adobe Suite programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign!
How do you make your Instagram stories so creative and aesthetic? 🎨
It's all about that creative flow and exploring an idea as soon as it arrives in your mind! As a designer, I've created my own story stickers which you can download here. I use Photoshop a little when I'm really putting effort in, but Canva is easily the most popular app/site as it's essentially a much user-friendly platform to create with and they have lots of templates if you're stuck for inspiration and flow. My favourite apps are Unfold, Canva, Storyluxe and Over.
How can I learn about my natal chart and more about astrology? 💫
I have created a blog post on "Astrology for Beginners" as a place to start as well as resources to continue your journey. You can book a session with me if you would like a personal birth chart interpretation covering the personal planets (sun, moon, mars, mercury and venus), north node (life purpose), midheaven (career) and more. Astrology is an incredible and significant tool to understand who you are in this lifetime, to recognise and utilise your strengths, and understand and accept your 'weaknesses'. If you're in a relationship and know your partners info as well, I can give you some brilliant tips and insight on what will strengthen the two of you!
What books can you recommend? 📖
I've read books my whole life, and from the age of 20 I started reading books on personal development, mindfulness, spirituality, psychology, and business. I have an extensive blog post here for you! If you're stuck after reading it, feel free to DM me so I can assess where you're at on your journey and provide a personalised recommendation.
Where do you go for injectables? 💉
Any time I visit Sydney, I go to Cosmetic Surgery Australia (@cs.aus) for my injectables. Dr Dash is my nurse for the procedures, and I have botox in my forehead, frown line and crows feet, and filler in my cheeks and lips.
Where did you have your breast augmentation done? 👙
I had breast surgery when I was 21 at a clinic in Bondi also by Dr Dash. We went with 385cc implants, under the muscle, and high profile. This is specifically for my body size and preference and everyones body is very different and will have different results. I haven't had any implications, would undergo surgery again in a heartbeat as it was incredibly easy, and cannot recommend Dr Dash at Cosmetic Surgery Australia more. He is incredibly experienced, takes pride in all his work, and is very empathetic and caring about the results you are after.
How do you stay organised and plan out your goals? 💭
I swear by MiGoals stationary products! They were originally a brand collaboration and now I have probably 60% of their entire collection 😅 My staple items are the 2021 planner, GSD minimal notebook (great to jot notes and ideas down and take everywhere) and daily desk pad which I use every evening to plan out my following day. A daily journal I use for diary entries and expanding on ideas and pings, is the Leuchtturm1917 dotted bullet journal. As a place to compile all my notes, learnings, and research, I use the program Notion on my laptop which also has an app for my iPad and iPhone. This is where I'll write out plans for YouTube videos, captions, blog posts, public speaking and lots more.
